Kei moved closer to Ialu, pausing to make sure no one else was talking to him before moving closer. "How are you doing?" He asked, pausing a moment before grinning, his head tilting to the side, "If you're stressing you shouldn't. You've probably gone over your lines twice as much as everyone else!"
The Er Rit flicked his ears around, briefly wishing he could actually see to make sure Ialu was alright before he pushed the urge away. With so many people close together, he was somewhat worried that someone would come too close and freak the other boy out... Luckily most of the other people had apparently caught on that touching Ialu was a big no-no. He was almost tempted to remind Ialu that he didn't need to worry about the blonde coming backstage or anything, but he didn't say that. Not a good idea to remind Ialu if that wasn't already on the other boy's mind, instead he kept on the same track of speaking, "And if you flub anything nobody'll notice, you're a good enough actor to mask it, even I could hear that."
Kei's ears flicked and he kept his good eye trained on Ialu's face, hoping the other boy wasn't too worried. He always sounded worried, and Kei wished he didn't have to. Lately he'd even started avoiding the stage manager some; not because he could see why Ialu had such a problem with him but... Well at least it gave Ialu one less thing to worry about. The stage manager seemed to have noticed pretty quickly, and confusingly enough seemed almost angry about it, even for the sort time Kei had been doing it. He wasn't sure if his roommate had noticed the distance or not, mostly because the stage manager had quickly started to make a point of trying to come closer to Kei -- which was just as confusing to the albino -- but just by avoidance he'd managed to cut the amount of time he'd spent around the older boy amazingly down. Maybe little things like that would actually help, even if he didn't quite understand why.

Ialu turned his head as Kei moved close to him. He let out a shaky breath as he listened to his roommate try to calm him down. "I know.., but still...," he argued weakly. He played with the flower prop that Oberon was supposed to give to Puck, pulling at the leaves slightly as he Kei spoke. Ialu looked up when he thought he felt someone watching them, fighting down a light shiver.
Frowning he turned to the Er Rit, and in hushed tones he whispered, "Did you hear that?" Despite Kei's near blindness, the tan boy knew that he had excellent hearing. Whatever threat he felt had left already, and Ialu sighed, neverminding the incident. Just then, the director called for all the actors to come pile around so they could do their chant before the show began. It was only 15 minutes before the curtains would be lifted and the festival's opening began.
He gave his roommate an apologetic smile, excusing himself and bounding over to the other actors. He glanced over his shoulder to look at the albino one more time, shouting a thanks.
"Okay everyone! I want everyone to put their hands in the circle... ahh except Ialu of course. The show is going to be great! Everyone worked very hard, and I'm glad that I got to work with you all! Now show everyone what we're made of!" All the boys hollered in excitement, even Ialu grinned and yelled. Still the butterflies in his stomach were multiplying the music in the auditorium quieted and the lights dimmed.

Kei focused his hearing on Ialu as the other boy spoke, glad that he had decided to come over with how the other boys breathing sounded. Maybe it would make a difference, maybe it wouldn't. I at least couldn't have hurt. That Ialu didn't seem to have much of a response seemed to verify that.
The Er Rit was about to answer, he wasn't sure exactly what, but at least to say something to try to further sooth the other boy, when Ialu's tone suddenly changed. The albino frowned, ears flicking as he tried to catch whatever suspicious sound it was that had suddenly made Ialu uneasy. "I don't--" His words cut off as the director called the actors over and he frowned after the colorful blob that was Ialu's costume. Ears flicking as he continued to try to listen for anything.
The frown faded slightly as he caught Ialu's voice among the others and a brief grin flickered over his face. They definitely were allowing for Ialu to not have to touch the rest of them, that much was obvious, and it sounded that even despite his roommate being nervous... Well it sounded like he was excited like the other boys.
Kei was focused enough on listening to Ialu that he missed the first part of the techie prayer as the cheers died off, managing to join in on "... Don't let us fuck up". Luckily most of the other eight stage hands also seemed to have joined in late. Or maybe they were supposed to start in there and let the stage manager do the first part. They'd told him about the tradition, but it was the first time they'd had a show to do it at and it made him feel a bit giddily happy in some small way.
It also meant that with his ears tuned on listening, he'd caught the sound of the stage manager starting the techie prayer not through his headset, but somewhere in the same room. Why he would be in here Kei didn't know... Maybe he had to grab something? It seemed like he would have asked Kei or one of the other hands that was here but who knew?
The Er Rit shook his head as someone called places through the headset, echoing out the yell automatically and waiting for the stream of cues that would mean the start of the show to begin threading in through the headset.

The first actor's got into their places as the lights on the stage were put out and some stage crew boy stood by the rope to wait for his cue to pull up the curtain. Ialu watched from the sidelines, biting his lip. The boys were doing pretty well so far, and the egyptian knew he'd have to enter soon. A happy boy who he'd gotten to know a bit, wearing a wig and a dress came bounding towards him from the stage. He winked and nodded towards the stage. It was time for Puck to enter.
Ialu walked in slowly, tried not to think to much about his pounding chest as the lights blinded him. He kept his eyes on the ground and flushed into the background as Oberon spoke. Then he spoke his first lines, and everything went more smooth after that. He tried his best to release his tension, and even the other actors were encouraging him.
And before he knew it, everyone was cheering and there was thunderous clapping. He bowed with a wide grin on his face, and exited the stage. Ialu definitely wanted to see Kei and tell him how it felt. The Er Rit was probably in the Green Room with everyone else...

Kei felt a bit of tension drain out of him as the curtains finally closed. First show done, and if what others were saying on headset was true, nothing had gone wrong. He'd only had to remind a few actors of where they were supposed to be, and only tell two to shut up. Actually he thought it was the same one both times, but oh well, from what the other stage hands said there always had to be at least one actor doing their best to earn the FA title.
It took him a few minutes to put up his headset and try to thread out through the other people. One nice thing about his eyesight was that unlike the other techies, he could just go ahead and set everything away when the actors were done instead of worrying about cleaning up the stage and props table. They'd tried it with him helping, and he just got in the way... which was somewhat depressing but he was determined to at least try to focus on the good things here.
Plus, being close to useless meant that he could go find Ialu, and that thought made up completely for any disgruntlement.
He moved pretty quickly out of the greenroom, where it seemed every single actor had decided to smush. Somehow he doubted Ialu would want to be around so many people shoved together. A couple of them called something out to him, some of the calls having a tone that was slightly confusing and he couldn't really catch the words to make out what in the world they were saying... But he pushed that from his mind and ignored them, letting them think he couldn't hear them over the bursts of laughter and congratulations as he slipped out of the green room door. At least with how noticeable he was, Ialu should be able to see him easily.

Mother and I follow the other "outsiders" into the school auditorium and somehow Mother's managed to get seats in the second row- despite the fact we were among the last to enter. We've got a few minutes left till the show was to start, so I scoot down in my chair and put my feet up on the back of the one in front of me as I pull out my flute. My ears flick briefly as I go through a few fingerings, making sure I've gotten the sets I learned today down, and smile at the thought of how Adrian will react to the "new" tunes.
Mother finally turns from talking to one of the other families next to us and frowns at how I'm sitting. Knowing that I won't hear her if she talks, she slaps my leg and pulls on an ear.
"Hss.. Mother!" I turn to face her and massage the slightly abused leg.
"Tsk. I thought we taught you how to sit properly, Salvatore! Look, the lights are going down. It's about ready to start!"
Grumbling but grinning, I sit up a little more and fix my eyes on the stage as the curtain comes up, the actors take their places and the play begins.
Not bad actually. I've never actually seen a school production, but the kids seem to be doing alright. I start getting a little distracted by everyone else in the room, but my attention snaps back to the stage as "Puck" makes his entrance.
I grin. So Ialu was slated for Puck, huh? Not bad! I try to pay more attention, to get a better idea of what this kid that's got a crush on my brother's like, and all too soon the play is over. I clap with the rest and scramble to my feet as Mother stands and resumes talking to our "neighbors" about the school.
I flick my ears and notice a familiar presence just out of the corner of my eye. Turning toward it, I see Blondie striding towards the stage and start talking to Stalker. Frowning, I look briefly towards Mother and see she probably has no intention of leaving before she has as many views on the school as possible. Satisfied that she's occupied, I focus a moment on the two guys standing next to the stage. Whatever it is they're talking about involves a lot of gesturing and my fur starts to stand on end.
Glancing once more at Mother, I slip out of the auditorium and look around, trying to figure out where Kei and Ialu have gone. Following the prickling at the back of my neck I walk down the corridor and finally notice Kei standing next to one of the doors. Looks like he's wanting for someone. Ialu maybe? Ah well.
Relaxing a little at the sight of my brother, I slip up to him and look around to see if Ialu is around as well.
Blondie and Stalker are after Ialu and Kei... Which is bad enough. What if they decide to work together to get want they want?
I shiver and my face creases in worry as I absently finger the elven flute in my hands.

Ialu finished wiping off the rest of the make up and glitter off of his face when one of the cast member's congratulated him on a job well done. He smiled politely and thanked him, slipping on his regular uniform clothes, glad to be out of the leafy costume. The boy continued to talk to him, others joining in the laughter.
"You're coming to the cast party, right Ialu?"
It didn't sound very fun.. he thought. But it sounded far better than having to walk around the school grounds with a few thousand people around. He shifted uncomfortably at the thought. The boy was sure that the booths were making lots of many for whatever club they happened to be doing it for. He knew that even the fencing club had set up a small game booth.
"Sure...," he replied, frowning a bit. The other boy grinned at his reply and went back to talking to the others. Sighing and shaking his head, Ialu excited the greenroom, glad to be out of the stuffy area. Immediately he saw the Er Rit and a smile spread on his face. "Kei!"
"How'd your end go?" he asked bouncing on his heels. His stomach grumbled and he flushed, embarrassed... "Ahh.. sorry. I haven't really eaten anything this morning. But I'm sure they have some stuff at the cast party. You're going too, right?"

Kei's ears flicked as he heard footsteps coming towards him and tilted his head to look the right direction with his good eye. The cadence of the steps sounded like Sal... A second of hesitantly watching the colors of the blob moving towards him and he was pretty positive that it was Sal, and a grin automatically flitted over his face.
"Hi Sal! Did you--"
He cut himself off as he heard Ialu call out his name, head swinging back around in a flurry of white hair to grin at the other boy. His roommate actually sounded happy, despite having been stuffed in among all the other actors to finish things up! The Er Rits ears flicked towards there room... where he was fairly sure most of the cast was. They really were noisy...
"Everything went good here... People actually behaved! How were things onstage?" For a moment he paused, thinking, then answered, "I'll go for at least a bit. Do you think they'll mind if I bring Sal with me?"
The albino's ears flicked as he glanced back towards his brother with a grin, hoping that Ialu's good mood wouldn't spoil from his brother being along. It wasn't like they would have to do anything with each other, and with Sal there he was certain that the blonde wouldn't be able to get to Ialu... And he really wanted to be able to spend the time with his brother. "Do you think mother would let you?" He asked his brother, tail flitting about as he added with a slight grin to complete the question he'd started to ask earlier, "And did you like the play?"

I smile as Kei grins at me, recognizing who I am right away. He starts to speak, but then another familiar voice calls out and and hang back a little so he can talk to Ialu.
Damn... Those two are actually pretty cute, standing next to each other. I flick my ears and grin happily at the sight.
I grin wider as Kei looks back to me. "I don't know if Mother would mind or not. Last I saw, she was busy chatting about the school with other parents." I shrug. "If she sees I'm gone, she'll know that I'm with you two; if she wants me to leave, she'll come get me!" I flick my ears and purr, hugging Kei briefly. "I thought the play was pretty good, actually." I turn to look at Ialu. "And you make a really good Puck! They did well casting you for the part, Ialu!"

Ialu finally noticed Sal as the brothers chatted. He stayed off to the side quietly waiting until the brown haired Er Rit addressed him. "Thanks," he replied with no malice, but no actual happiness either. He actually didn't think he did that great of a job. In fact, he had messed up one of his lines. Shaking the thoughts from his head, he turned to the albino.
"It should be fine for Sal to come." Truthfully, he wasn't sure. But since the play was over, the director was far more laid back. He gave a nod at the two brothers as he walked away from them. "Go ahead and ask your mom if you need. It's being held in the banquet room connected to the dorms." With another wave, the dark skinned boy was off, a bag in hand holding his things.
He figured the best way to beat the crowd would be to walk to the back of the school. He had done it several times, so it was no big deal. Just a few branches getting in the way. He ducked one last time before he made it to the back of the dorms, swinging the door open, and nearly bumping into Jeremiah. The boy looked like he was in a hurry, and merely smiled and waved at Ialu before running off.

Kei blinked as Ialu left, frowning and making sure to remember where Ialu had said it was. A moment later he realized that Ialu was leaving on his own. When last time he had done that he'd been assaulted. Oh shit.
For a moment he stood there, totally torn on if he should attempt to run after the other boy or not. His hand was halfway up to his glasses to get them out of harms way to take off after the other boy, when he realized that doing so would be something of a moot point. He didn't even know where Ialu had run... Or, well he knew where the other boy was headed, just not what route. And heading him off at a place where tons of people would be gathering anyways seemed like it was a bit of a lost cause. If anything happened, he doubted that it would be there.
With a soft sigh he let his hand fall to his side, eyes dark with worry as they flickered over to his brother. "I guess we should go ask mother then?" He asked, tail twitching "Ialu should get there before us, but at least there'll be lots of people in there. So nothing could happen to him then, right?"
He wasn't quite sure why he bothered asking Sal that. It wasn't like his brother could really know... But it was comforting to at least voice the worry, especially to his brother. Most days back home it had seemed like his siblings just had to be there and they could magically fix anything.

Ialu uncertainly responses to my compliment and decides to run ahead. I frown a bit, wondering if that was such a good idea.
Kei seemed to be thinking along the same lines, judging from his words. I flick my ears and purr in reassurance. "It'll be OK, if we hurry after him." I grab Kei's hand and start pulling him towards where I remember the dorms are located. "As I said before, Kei! Mother can find me if she wants me back! Let's just go!"
I thread my way through the crowd, hauling Kei along and push open the doors. I raise my face to a drifting night breeze for a moment before continuing to walk down the path- the dormitory brightly lit in front of us. The path didn't go straight, and I normally would have just cut across... but I had Kei in tow, and I didn't know if there was any random pitfalls hidden in the grass.
The wind picks up a little just as we finally reach the dorms and I pull open the door, blinking in the bright lights and making sure my brother still had his glasses on.
"Alright, we're in the dorms! Where to now, Kei?"

Ialu slipped through the ballroom door where balloons were tied to tables, and all sorts of left over decorations from the play were set out. There was a food table with cheese, crackers and cookies and Ialu immediately headed for it. A few of his classmates were there who weren't involved in the play, and they congratulated him as well.
The boy took his seat, with a piled plate in hand, eyes glued to the door to watch for the two Er Rit brothers. He felt someone’s eyes watching him, just like when he was talking to Kei earlier, and his head whipped around to see who it was. There was an empty space on the dance floor were boys from his school were dancing with their partners to the light music in the background, and in that space, he caught the Stage Manager’s eyes. They were shooting him a burning glare, and he looked down at his plate suddenly not feeling hungry anymore.
That guy was definitely bad news.

Kei couldn't help but feel a little bit relieved when Sal said they didn't actually have to go find their mother. He doubted that she wouldn't let Sal go... But sometimes it was hard to but into her conversations to ask her things, and sometimes she'd start talking to them and it was hard to get away. Really he'd rather they got there and made sure that Ialu hadn't gotten ambushed on the way soon as they could.
For a moment he wondered why he was so worried, after all Ialu had protected himself just fine before he came... Then he mentally shook himself. It was logical that he was worried after Ialu, totally logical. The smaller boy hadn't had the stupid blonde hunting after him before, and lately he had gotten attacked every single time Kei had left him alone outside of classes. Why else would he be worried anyway?
As Sal started pulling him he pushed that from his mind, figuring it solved and letting himself concentrate on moving as fast as the other boy. He was fairly glad that Sal took the walkway, even if it was longer. But then again his brother knew him well, and grass was harder for him to make sure he was stepping right on. Really he just concentrated on moving and not worrying. Nothing he could do at this point even if something was happening. Nothing he would be able to do at all really, but nothing to even think of unless they actually knew if Ialu had gotten there safely or not. He was fairly relieved when they broke into the brighter lights of the dorm.
"The banquet hall should be this way..." Kei said, head tilting as he looked at the halls and went over the mental map he'd developed in his head. After a moment he started moving, hand still tightly clutching his brother's as he tugged Sal with him down the hallways towards the room.
He immediately felt relief wash over him as he heard the sounds of people gathering in the large room, ears twitching to catch familiar voices, most of them ones he had heard what seemed like a thousand times during rehearsal... But not Ialu's. And he was usually pretty good at picking out Ialu's voice.
As they slipped into the room he glanced over at his brother, "Do you see Ialu anywhere?"

I let Kei take the lead as we walk towards the banquet hall, keeping one eye out for obstacles in front of him and the other looking around at the hallways as we pass. Not bad, really. Didn't really look around the first time through, but this isn't too bad!
I feel Kei relax just I turn my head and finally hear the murmur and shouts of a largish gathering. I follow him and and twitch my tail as I look around for Ialu.
"Ah... yes! He's over closer to the food table, facing us."
I switch places again with my brother and weave our way slowly towards the human boy, making sure no one jostles Kei too much. I smile as I reach the table Ialu sits at, grinning wider at the amount of food on his plate. "Hey, we've got something in common!"
I tilt my head at Kei. "You want something to eat, Kei? I'll get us a couple plates!"
I glance around as I wait for Kei's answer, I move my head to look at the all the kids with interest, my gaze resting on the Stalker and turning briefly into a glare to match the one he's shooting our way.

Kei felt a bunch of tension he hadn't know was there bleed out of him as Sal said he saw Ialu. Even beyond the worry he had known he had felt. Granted... Maybe he shouldn't have worried as much. After all, just like he had thought earlier, Ialu had been taking care of himself for awhile.
For a moment he felt silly for being so worried about things as Sal pulled him over towards where Ialu was. For the last few days it had seemed like the blonde had been attacking his smaller roommate whenever he got the chance... But maybe he had just been lucky? Or maybe he had gotten bored? Or, Kei realized with a bit of a pang, the blonde just had festival things he was doing and being worried was still a very good way to go.
His mind was utterly confused with itself once they got upt to Ialu, and it took him a moment to realize what Sal was talking about when he exclaimed. After a moment, Kei grinned slightly. Doubtless Ialu wasn't going to like that he and Sal had some point that they were the same on, Ialu probably wasn't going to like that at all.
"Just a little." He answered, ears flicking towards Sal, "I'm only a little hungry."

Ialu felt himself relax as the two brothers came through the door. He hadn't even realized that he had tensed up so much. He picked at the crackers on his plate, nibbling rather than his usual wolfing. He was completely not looking forward to the rest of the day, and would probably be spending it reading in the room. Which was fine by him, but he'd rather be fencing. Of course.. he hadn't gone since that one incident.
He found himself staring at Kei as he spoke, and quickly ripped his gaze away. Kei was probably going to be spending the day with his family out in the festival, which was fine with the tan boy. If his mother was here, he'd be doing the same thing regardless of how many people there were.
Kei's answer made him frown a bit. His roommate didn't eat very much. He hadn't even seen Kei eat more than a salad each time they ate together. He waved them off, cracker in hand. "You two go get food. I'll only be sitting right here. That way you can pick what you want, Kei."

I try not to snicker as Ialu stares at my brother. He's obviously only hearing half of what we've said, and it's rather funny. Pretty cute, too. Too bad Kei can't see very well... his expression if he knew how Ialu was looking at him would be priceless!
I tilt my head as Ialu finally says something. I glance back towards where I saw Stalker last, but he isn't there. I look around the room, and can't seem to find him. Something about that doesn't sit too well with me, but I try and brush it off as a brother's paranoia.
"Alright. I'll be keeping an eye out, just in case, though." I grab Kei's hand again and pull him towards the food table before he can get a chance to say anything. Looking over the selection, I quickly pile a heaping plate full of random stuff for myself, and tug on Kei's arm.
"What would you like? Salad, like usual?"

Kei frowned slightly as Ialu told them to go, another little bit of worry tinging through, even right in the wake of the feeling of being silly for it. His ears flicked as he tried to get his thoughts in order enough to say something, mostly that it wasn't like he'd ever just randomly grab some blob or another without knowing what it was. The nice thing about veggies were that they were easy to discern from the other things.
Right as he was about to say that he really didn't care about picking out his food, his brother had grabbed his hand and was pulling him. Having been lost in thought, it took him a moment to realize from what Sal had just said that the other boy obviously was at least a little worried too. Why else would he be saying he would keep an eye out?
That at least made Kei feel a tiny bit less silly for worrying; though there didn't seem to be anything to worry about right now...
His tail flicked around his legs as they moved up to the table, the white furred boy grabbing a plate and watching with a wry grin as his brother's white blob soon became a distinctively large blob, probably one that mirrored what Ialu had gotten for himself. The slight amusement at just how much the two could eat pushed away some of the bits of anxiety, and his tail slowed it's mad whisper over the ground to something less likely to trip someone (or at least get his long fur covered with dirt, which would be no fun to clean... Thinking of which he still had to ask Sal about that...).
"Salad sounds good." He answered with a slight shrug, giving the masses of food a dubious look. The one problem with parties was that nothing was colored right. They couldn't just have normal things where generally the bright colors meant things Kei would eat. No, they had to color everything. "Which one's the veggies?"

Ialu shut his eyes momentarily, feeling his head pound lightly. It was probably the music and the lack of food, but he just wasn't feeling hungry. He probably would retire to the room soon, since it was only a a hall away. His eyes fluttered back open to stare blankly at the brother's backs. He hadn't even noticed when someone slid into the seat beside him, until hot air was blown into his face.
The boy flinched a bit, turning his head to face the person, and feeling his mouth go dry as his eyes met Percy's gold ones. The older boy was in casual clothing rather than the uniform, and a smirk adorned his face.
"Miss me?" Percy asked, a twinkle in his eye.
"Hardly," Ialu shivered, scooting down the table to make more space between them. He glanced back up to the brother's. The stage manager had slinked up to the two, as well as a few other boys who were talking to Kei, most likely about the play.
(errrrrr.. will add more! MARIE, KIA. WHERE ARE YOUU?)
