- Part I -
Name: Aik
Race: Flutter Sprite
Gender: Female
Age: 16
Basic Appearance: Aik has impossibly long black hair. It can’t really be known for sure how long, since she washes it out alone and keeps it rather elaborately up with sticks (really it isn’t elaborate, but the haphazard symmetry makes it appear so). Her skin is dark tan in color, and her build fairly thin and rather boyish, though she still isn’t overly tall at 5’5 feet. Contrasting to her brother, her eyes are a piercing icy blue, and her butterfly shaped wings start the same, though they fade to be the exact same shade of purple on the edges. Her wings are extremely flexible, unlike those of a normal butterfly.
Typical Outfit: Aik’s clothing is very similar to her bothers. Sometimes she’ll be found wearing only the black two pieced leotard that goes underneath her clothing, hooking onto her middle finger on both hands and covering her feet completely. At other times she wears over it a nearly black brown dress with long sleeve type things that are cut almost up to her side on the bottom, so they fall off and simply hang there instead of acting as true sleeves. The skirt of it isn’t a true skirt, ending halfway to her knees in the front and dropping halfway down her calves in the back. Much like her brother, she wears sandals and ties ribbon around her wrists to control the leotard, though her ribbons are blue. She also has a belt much like the one she had made for her brother, again in blue rather than red, with the same burnt in designs.
Personality: Before all else, Aik is extremely and overly protective of her brother. Both she and Tuyet share the same psyche that he is theirs… which often leads to contention between the two girls. On her own she is still extremely confrontational, possibly even more so than she is when with her brother, since for his benefits she avoids escalating situations to fights. If she meets you and you don’t have something to give her, she won’t like you. Rarely she’ll learn to tolerate someone, but as a general rule views the world pessimistically and remains convinced that there is very little, if any, good in it. So far as she’s concerned her brother is the last remaining vestige of it (she knows herself well enough to not put herself as ‘good’).
Likes: Fights, being correct, solitude
Dislikes: People, fire

Weapons (if applicable): Change with time, usually various small knives which she hides in her sleeves
Special Skills (if applicable): Despite her species Aik is a fairly good fighter, having managed to be taught some disciplines of circular fighting while living with the colony. She isn’t an extra by any stretch, but she knows enough about general fighting and knife work to be able to kill so long as she has the element of surprise, and as she’s very sneaky that’s usually somewhat easy.
General Biography: Aik and her brother were born to a fairly happy family in Maiorn during a fairly dry summer. Literally the day after (they were born at night) a mild forest fire cut through, killing many Flutter Sprites. The twins had been set to safety by their father as he went to save their mother (ultimately failing), and thereafter her brother with his red eyes was thought to be the cause of any fire related tragedy that happened. Try as she might, Aik wasn’t extremely successful at protecting her brother, and no matter how much she insisted that she had been with him whenever things happened, no one would listen.
When she was four, her brother mysteriously disappeared in the night, and she was afterwards taken in by another family, who apparently had always been willing to care for her, just not her ‘cursed’ brother. Naturally this caused her to hate them with a firey passion of doom. During the years after she became the troublemaker of the colony, doing anything and everything to make life miserable for everyone. On the rare occasions that a stranger would come through she would generally beg them to teach her any tricks or ways to fight that they knew of, and quite a few actually complied.
By the time she was 12 she had been passed along almost twenty different families, all of them ultimately failing to control her in any way, and most of the other children of the colony were terrified of her, since she would pick a fight with absolutely no rhyme or reason, and she fought dirty. Finally she was given to the lady who was in charge of the few criminals that the colony had imprisoned, who took to locking the girl up until she agreed to behave… which became a vicious cycle as Aik had no qualms against lying.
When her brother randomly came she was actually locked up, and as part of her punishment wasn’t allowed to go see him for hours after he returned. Once she got out she refused to leave his side for a moment, terrified that someone would take him away again and making it subtly clear to the other children that anyone coming near him was getting a beating. She didn’t know what he had been through, but she figured it couldn’t have been fun.
When he was taken away in the morning Aik was absolutely livid, flying out into the woods to clear her head and think of a way to get him out. She knew minor lockpicking, but she didn’t think she was good enough to break him out without people noticing. She was well in the shadows and had her hair up, so Tuyet, seeing her, thought she was Den and came zooming over to say hi. Thus ensued much yelling and confusion, before they realized that they were both concerned about the same boy, so plotting started in earnest.
As night fell, Aik snuck into the rooms of the highly respected individual who had ordered her brother imprisoned, who had also been one of the ones adamant that the fires of their earlier years had been his fault, and had always done his best to try to ‘control’ the girl. She killed him, rather brutally, and managed to be gone by the time the alarms were rung. As she slipped back into the woods, Tuyet struck, a silvery ghost that simply tore into anything she could get her claws into on the opposite side of town from the killings. Not being fighters, most of the sprites simply fled, and she quickly made her way closer to the place where Den was being held. Aik was already there, having snuck up behind her most recent caretaker and killed her with a slash to the jugular, stealing her keys and breaking her brother out.
Since then, they’ve been wandering, usually staying in the southern part of Maiorn, often going briefly into other countries.
