Spaced out would have been a very apt term to use for Talimede as he watched the sunset. It was always a beautiful sight no matter where he traveled, but here with the waters it seemed even moreso somehow. He sighed a slight to himself, tail swishing idly behind him. Such a peaceful day really...
Of course then out of the corner of his sharp eyes, he happened to first see a group of fingers perched at the edge of the dock. At first it certainly startled him, as he nearly jumped out of his fur tail twitching wildly behind him. 'What on this planet?!?' he thought, before taking a second look just as a very familiar face met his.
"Good thing indeed!" Talimede replied with a laugh. His tail calmed down a slight behind him, as a bright smile came. "Here, you need help getting up?" Talimede asked, offering his hand.
Kerin... it really was nice to see him again. So many questions, he wondered too how Kerin had been! Well that would come soon enough, first they needed to get Kerin fully up on the dock! But the feline found himself nearly bouncing inside, glad to see the selkie again. He wondered, did Kerin feel the same way as well? But again, he was sure to find out later right?

((Tried to make this longer and utterly failed XP))
Kerin grinned a little as Tali turned towards him. It was hard to tell in the failing light... but it looked as though he had managed to startle the larger man, and he hadn't even been trying!
He kicked his feet in the water, resting his chin on his hands for a moment as he looked up at the L'ortus, vaguely amused. He probably shouldn't have been amused at startling someone... but he supposed that wasn't to be helped. Not with his personality at least.
"No, not really." He said, shifting his arms so that he could reach up to take Talimede's offered hand anyway. "Does make it easier though." In reality it would be rather easy to get up even on his own; he might have been small, but that didn't mean he wasn't at least strong enough to haul himself about... Just for some reason he was tempted towards that little bit of contact.

((Thats alright, I run into that problem a lot myself ><; ))
Talimede nodded, and took hold of Kerin;s hand. He wasn't sure why, but it was nice to have the selkie close again. Talimede tried not to think too hard about that however, knowing his cheeks would flare a bright red if he did. And that would just be well, terrible!
Standing up now, and using his toeclaws for a bit of leverage,, Talimede pulled Kerin up onto the pier. "Long time no see," Tali told the man with a slight grin. He idly wondered if any of his hair was still on end after being startled earlier, and it took a slight bit of control not to check or flatten it with a hand. Or smooth out his tail. Okay, so he liked to preen himself a bit on occasion. Well, he would just have to hope no hairs still stood on end. Yep.
"So what have you been up to anyways?" Talimede asked. "I'm merely watching the sunset," he explained, nodding towards the sky where one could see the sky started to turn darker hues of blue and violet. Of course he had been up to a bit more than that, but he wanted to hear Kerin's reply first!
He sat back down at the dock, and nodded towards a spot beside him. Out here it was really nice and calm peaceful even. Most folks were already inside for the night, as well as the local fishermen. It was the perfect place really for an evening chat, to catch up.
((And short replies like this are why I should never reply before bedtime ;3))

Kerin grinned a little to himself as he was pulled up, not really helping much except to use his other arm to keep himself from scraping against the edge of the dock, feet splashing a little as they came up out of the water. Completely contrary to how he usually was, he was finding that he liked being hauled up by the L'ortus... which was vaguely confusing.
He shook brushed his hair out of his eyes once his feet were firmly on the dock, shaking a bit of water from it and completely by coincidence -- the same sort of coincidence that had led to him being here, which was to say, not. -- glancing towards Talimede's tail. His grin widened a little, since it appeared that he had definitely managed to scare the L'ortus. Which was pretty good considering he hadn't even been in seal form.
It also made him tempted to see if he could have started the man again by jumping for it, but that wasn't exactly a polite way to say hello...
He didn't answer immediately, first moving to fold down and sit cross-legged besides the L'ortus, water dripping off of his sealskin and pack as he took the latter off and set it besides him. Later he would definitely have to change, but he wasn't entirely worried about it right now. Not like he had to follow human decorum while sitting like a dock, and he -liked- being able to go about in nothing but his skin. Movement was quite a bit more effortless that way.
"Not really much," He answered, moving some hair from his face again, "Wandering around, randomly ended up deliverin' some things for some people, which was a change of pace." A change of pace that had given him more extra money than he usually would have, which was most of the reason why he had done so. He had been pleasantly surprised to find that people were rather grateful for someone who could safely deliver things they didn't want lost. "Though if I answered that how you sorta seemed to I could just say that I've been swimmin' and leave it at that." He added with a grin, "What've you been doin' lately?"
The Selkie glanced towards the sunset, head tilting back a little to look at the colors of the clouds. He always liked this time of day, almost as much as sunrise. Some things in nature just managed to be beautiful no matter how many times they were seen.

Of course, Talimede noticed the glance towards his tail and blushed brightly right after. Even with his tanned complexion the blush was apparent. When Kerin answer, Tali smiled. "What have I been up to huh?" Tali asked, stretching his arms a bit. Hegave an almost catlike yawn, tail twitching a slight behind him, before continuing.
"Sorry, that one sort of escaped," he explained about the yawn, shaking his head. Not as much as I would like to really..." he admitted, shaking his head. "I decided that I wanted to travel a bit more, so I told my friend I would be wandering a bit. He didn't seem to mind really, but then again, he was chasing after skirts and pants again," Taikmede added, laughing to himself. That was an understatement on his friend's part, the harpy really was a nympho to put it lightly.
""I really have not gotten too far in my travels yet, here and tehre you know? I came here to restock, and because I heard they have some really good fish," he added, shaking his head. "I have a weakness for good fish," he added. But that just came from being what he was really. "Just trying to figure out where I want to go from here," he added, her gaze looking upwards at the sky a moment. He smile broadened.
"Travelling is worth it if anything for two reasons. The first is to see sights like this all the time." He paused a moment, before blushing again. "The second is the pleasure of running into old friends," he added, looking towards Kerin. He never did quite figure out why he always felt so much more relaxed in the selkie's presence. Go figure.
((OOoooy, sorry about the lateness here x-x))

((Sorry I took so long to answer <3 My comp has been going boom (and I'm back home, which always makes my comp time go poof)))
The selkie hid a slight smile of amusement as the L'ortus yawned. Kerin probably would be in the same state in about an hour or so, but as it was this was usually the time that he was moving about making sure he had shelter for the night. Being sleepy wasn't generally the best thing for making sure that he couldn't be eaten by any bigger predator that maybe passed by; including humans, though since he slept in his skin most of the time they were generally easy to scare off, so long as he woke up in time.
"Tired?" He asked, head tilting a little. He didn't bother answering when Talimede mentioned his old travelling partner. Kerin hadn't really gotten a chance to meet the harpy... and honestly, wasn't too sad for that. Maybe he was mean in making instant judgements based on the person being a bird, but the whole personality had kinda confirmed it. Maybe the harpy was one of those people that had to grow on someone... not that Kerin had been inclined to wait for that to happen.
"The fish here really do tend to be good." Kerin said, absentmindedly grinning out at the waves, "Don't know about the ones they catch, but I've always been able to catch some nice ones. If you go really far out they have some huge ones in this area, I don't go after those too often though."
The selkie fell into a comfortable silence as he listened to Talimede continue, glancing over just barely catching sight of the red on the L'ortus's face in the failing light. Kerin grinned slightly, the back of his mind caught between amusement and wondering why exactly that sort of statement would have caused him to blush as he answered, "That definitely does tend to make things more fun, no? Doesn't tend to happen to me very often, unless I've gone back to where I have family. Most of them don't tend to go travelin' about."
He let his voice trail off, eyes flicking back to the sunset. It probably was nearing time that finding a place to stay, but for now he wasn't too worried. The prettiness of the sky and the water was enough to keep him content for at least a little bit. And maybe sitting there with Talimede was doing a bit more in making him want to not have to move towards the town itself; maybe even more than a bit, though he didn't suppose that was something to be pondering over right at that moment.

((OOC:: Leona and I agreed to go ahead and end the post, since she has stuff going on. Essentially for future for these two, they talked, ended up splitting ways for different things, and no naughtyness or plotworthy things occurred. XP So... Erm... I guess that would mean that the thread is officially ended. ^^;; ))
