Baqi couldn't help but laugh a little at Richard's comment, "...The troubled artist?" he suggested quietly, before looking back to where the violinist was once again sitting, and grinning a bit as he started to play again. "So everything all right with him again?" Baqi asked Richard, glanced sideways at the Knight, "...The musician, I mean."
He was slightly surprised as Amarante abruptly excused himself, but shrugged off his offer to join him, "Oh, no thank-you," he smiled a little at the Forest Elf, "I think I'll stay down here for a bit longer. Ah, sleep well, Sir." Baqi gave the elf a little nod of his head when Amarante bowed before disappearing upstairs.
"...He's a skittish little thing, isn't he?" Baqi muttered conversationally to Richard again, a serene smile spread across his face as he let the music flow over his being. He could understand the expression on the musician's face - the softer tune was... Blissful.

"He is," Richard murmured, his eyes never leaving Tristan's playing form. "But he has a right to be...if the stories about the Shi family of Clan Hardi are correct..." He took a sip of his tankard and grinned. "One hear's things in my line of work Mr. Riaz." He chuckled before looking back at Tristan.
"One indeed hears thigns..." he murmured, watching the boy. So this was the fabled son of the Corbeau family. He had long heard stories, told by the older knights, of the malicious nature of the Corbeau dynasty. Some said it was little better than a crime syndicate. Yet here, in this tiny bar and inn, sat the eldest son of the current head of the family. And he was not malicious or cruel or too selfish.
He was a musician.
"The world is an odd place Mr. Riaz," Richard murmured lightly so as not to detract too much from the violin's music. "At least it keeps me in buisness."

Amarante scurried up the stairs hurridly. In a way he was glad that the man had declined his offer of company as he had to prepare to leave early the next morning. He was not expecting to be back for quite some time. Though maybe he would meet up with one of the men he had met tonight again...

So sorry it took so long.. don't haet me T^T
As the chilly darkness fell on the world outside like a blanket, the Inn remained warm and inviting. People mingled about, encourged to stay around thanks to the pleasant music offered by the blond musician. Tristan hadn't made a pause since he last started playing, which was almost two hours ago, and he started to feel it.
The young man's gaze idled over the folks and, with a soft smile, played to the end of the song. Some looked up as the sound of the violin stopped, and Tristan smiled to them, raising his voice slightly over the conversations currently being held. "You've all been a wonderful audience. Thank you." That said, he slid down from the counter, wincing slightly at how stiff he was, and very carefully put the instrument away.
After counting the tips received, he got his free room key from the innkeeper (who had made some good coin himself), and slung the strap of the violin case over his shoulder. Ice-blue eyes surveyed the crowd and he soon found what he was looking for. Head held high, though not arrogantly so, and an almost dreamy smile on his face, he approached the Knight, nodding to him and his friend, the er tam.
Facing the spearman, he smiled softly. "Thank you for earlier... Richard d'Havelin, was it?"

Richard nodded. "Aye, 'tis my name good sir," he replied, downing another mouthful of ale. He licked a bit of foam from his upper lip and grinned cheekily. "Care to join us for a drink Mr. Tristan?" He motioned to the innkeeper, sliding a few coins across the table. The old man chuckled heartily and poured out two tankards, slamming them onto the counter before walking down to help other patrons.
"You play wonderfully sir," Richard said, the grin never leaving his face. "How long have you been playing?" He slipped off of his stool and offered it to the young musician. He was smiling, but his eyes were calculating. He wanted to gather as much information about this boy as he could. His father would pay handsomely to get him back. The Knights would pay handsomely to have him testify against his family. Which path would be easiest? And would there be any other attacks on him tonight?
So many questions, so little time to mull them all over.

Baqi gave an awkward laugh, and ran a hand through his hair as the little elf, looking a little flustered apologised quickly. He smiled down at Amarante, "Oh, don't worry. It's ok, Amarante." He hesitated for a moment, and glanced back towards the musician, tempted by his music to stay. But, on the other hand, he supposed that he should be turning in too. After all, like it seemed to be the case with the forest elf, he had a busy day tomorrow.
Baqi looked towards d'Havelin again, and laughed lightly, "I'm heading up to bed," he murmured, giving the night a smile, "Good luck wrangling the artists, d'Havelin." He nodded towards Tristan, who seemed to be absorbed in his own music.
"I'll come up with you. I need an early night, too." Baqi motioned for the little elf to lead the way.

Amarante caught the heard the voice behind him and looked back, startled. "Wha-?! Oh. I'm sorry, I didn't see you there..." The man had been on his blind side after all. "O-Of course. I...If you don't mind me asking...Where are you from?" He blushed a little. "Though if...if you find that too forward of me, to ask such a thing, then you don't have to reply!"
He bowed his head, grimacing and blushing. His eldest brother always had said he asked too many questions. And occasionally about things that just weren't wise. "I'm sorry if I'm being impolite! Please, forgive me!"

"Oh," Baqi gave the elf one of his charming smiles, "Don't get yourself all stressed there, love. It's not impolite at all. You're just trying to make friendly conversation." He gave Amarante a gentle pat on the shoulder, "Relax. And, by the way. I'm from here originally. I mean, I grew up in Lumiina. But I moved to Pisce. I'm just here to visit my family."
He ushered the other man towards the staircase, as he seemed to be doing little moving. "...I can tell that you're not from around here? Forest elf, right? So... You're from..." Baqi thought for a moment, tail curling a little as he tried to remember what he'd been taught in school, "...Um. Maiorn, right?"

Amarante hurried along a little, blushing from Baqi's smile and smiled a little back. "Ye-yes. I come from Maiorn. Near the border to Armarbor...I...I've just been allowed to leave home and so I'm...trying to find out about everything!" He risked another shy glance and smile up at Baqi.
"This...this is the first time I've been allowed to go anywhere alone since...well...since before this..." He motioned to his eye and blushed a little more. "But...I'm sure you're not really interested in that! Wha-what is your family like? If...you don't mind me asking that is?"

They started up the stairs together, "...You only just left home? Oh. So how old are you?" he asked with another smile - after all, they seemed to fluster the elf. ...Which was sort of cute. Baqi rubbed self-consciously at the back of an ear, "Oh, my mother is very nice. And I have a younger brother - three years younger. He's alright. But you know what siblings are like. My father died when I was much younger."
Baqi was quiet, as they walked, before adding, "And you shouldn't apologise for everything you say, Amarante. You haven't said anything bad, after all."

Amarante blushed again. "I'm so- I mean...I'm not very used to talking to people outside of my family...I...I have brothers too! Well, more than you obviously, I have four and I'm the youngest at 30 and my eldest brother is already 75 and then there's my parents too! And...oh dear. I'm rambling aren't I?"
He gave another small smile to Baqi and laughed nervously. "I tend to do that when I'm nervous...I...I'm sorry about your father though..." He trailed off and bit his lip in thought. "I...I think that...from what...I mean. I think he would have been proud. You seem very nice." Amarante blushed a bright red, almost the same colour as his hair and looked down at the floor.

Kasumi sat their as the people left and the lovely melody faded away. Some were moaning about the song ending but they smiled and said it was good while it lasted. Still tired from her trip and her clothes stained with dried blood from the three elves she pumbled to the ground as their blood dressed the scene, which smelled horrid than the drunken men and women fumes. Her gin distilled by it not being sipped. Humans passing by as only rare times a beast man passed. Kasumi got up as the bar closed up and the light from the horizon at its lowest edge showing. She still hasn't found the wanted men yet, and in her wallet was only lent and more lent. Walking towards the stairs and gone up. Her room was cozy but had that it's too nice look. Kasumi put down her weighted Cloak on the chair that lead to a big dent into the seat as she closed the door. There was a washer right there and Kasumi took off her shirt, pants, and then the stuff out of her pants. Laying them on the table to sort out. throwing the clothes into the washer as water was poured in. Starting the washer n' Dryer and stood there thinking with her bandaged chest and bit of her shoulders. "What should I do now" KAsumi thought. " Maybe I'll knock on someone's door I should cut my hair. Walking towards her stuff in her pants she took out and took the scissors and cut 1/2 of the back hair off. Glad with her work she washed the scissors and took a shower washing the dirt off herself and on her necklace, wrist, and ankle shockers. She got out and dried up the excess moisture, replacing the old bandages with new ones and heading towards the washer n' Dryer. And taking out her clothes that were good as new and dry. "Maybe I shoud put weights on them...." gestured Kasumi heading towards the bag and took out some excess weight blocks and attached to removable sockets in the pants and the edges around her shirt. Placeing her clothes on herself and walked outside to the hallway. " What door should I knock on...."Pondered Kasumi.

"Oh wow. Would've been... Interesting I guess growing up in a house with 4 brothers." Baqi couldn't really believe that the elf was already 30 years old - he looked younger than him, and Baqi was only 20. But, he supposed... Elves did age differently. "Don't worry, you're not rambling at all - it's interesting to hear about. ...And, ah, I'm 20 by the way." He gave him a smile.
He shifted slightly as they reached the top of the stairs. "You shouldn't be sorry, I don't really remember very much of him." Laughing nervously, he watched the other man for a moment - he'd gone redder than a beetroot. "But, I, uh... Guess he would be proud of me?" It was nicer to think that he would be either way.

"It was. But they're all very nice. And they've always taken good care of me. I'm...ahh...not very good with things like fighting...as I'm sure you can imagine." Amarante gave a small laugh and lead the way to their room, unlocking it and pushing the rather heavy door open.
"20...That's around the adult age for you isn't it? Yes...Well. I suppose that makes sense. You certainly don't look like a teenager..." Amarante looked Baqi up and down and then blushed and grimaced, realising what he had just said and done. "Not that I'm looking...I mean...Oh dear..." He groaned and tried to pretend that he hadn't just made a fool of himself.

He grimaced slightly, "Oh, don't worry. I'm not much of a fighter, either." Baqi much preferred to just use his knife for self defense - and he was fast enough to run. "We're... I mean, Er Tam, aren't really built for physical combat, or anything..." Baqi glanced down at himself for a moment, too, before pulling the heavy door closed, moving around the room the light some of the lamps.
"And um, yes. I'm an adult..." Baqi could feel heat rising in his cheeks as well as the elf gave him the once over. "And... Forest Elf 30 is... Pretty much the same as an Er Tam, 20? Isn't it?" He asked quietly, tail winding itself around his own leg - his tail always seemed to be getting in the way when he got like this. An unfortunate nervous habit, as far as he was concerned.

"Yes. It is. Around 18-20 or something. I'm...If I made you umcomfortable...I...Oh. I really am no good at this." Amarante pouted and sat down on a nearby bed...and then proceeded to squeal loudly as the bed sank with his slight weight and practically buried him in the matress, causing him to fall backwards.
"Eek! Help! The bed is eating me!" He attempted to claw his way out but had sunk so deep that it was a rather useless attempt. "It's too soft!"

Baqi let out a rather loud laugh, feeling himself relax a bit, tail uncoiling. He took a few steps towards the bed, trying desperately to stifle his laughter - had to at least pretend to be sympathetic. He extended an arm, offering Amarante a hand, despite the fact that he was still laughing a little hysterically now.
"You have no idea how funny that looks," he said through his laughter, wiping a tear from his eye with his free hand. Although, it probably wasn't as funny from the point of view of the person actually stuck in the mattress.

Amarante pouted and glared at Baqi. "Oh hush." Even if he couldn't help he laugh that escaped him as he grasped the offered hand and pulled himself up. "I suppose I shall just have to be wary of the elf-eating mattresses now, shant I?" He laughed again and blushed just a little.
"At least that kinda broke the ice though. At my expense maybe but it's still a good thing right?" Amarante grinned at Baqi.

His head twitched in a nod, "Yes, I think you should, indeed. Maybe just ah, try to be a little more careful next time, eh?" Baqi's laughter was starting to subside as he flashed him a quick grin. "Or you could check the other mattresses..." He glanced around at the beds in the room, "I'm sure they're not all... 'Elf-eating' mattresses."
He let out a light sigh, and nodded again, scratching an ear, "Yes, I suppose that it did. ...It was very funny, after all." Even if it was at the little elf's expense - it was definitely better than just trying to make awkward small talk.

Amarante laughed and, after careful testing, jumped onto another mattress, bouncing a little. "True. So where are you headed?" He slid off his cloak and pulled his hair out, rummaging through his bag for a brush.
"Aha! Here it is!" Amarante pulled the desired item out triumphantly and proceeded to attempt to rid his hair of the multitude of tangles that always seemed to become his hair.
